Membership Categories

Contributions or gifts to the UACPA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments are deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense subject to restrictions imposed as a result of association lobbying activities. 4.06% of dues paid for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are not deductible because of lobbying activitiy.

Fellow Membership

To qualify for Fellow Membership, you must provide proof of successful passage of the Uniform CPA Examination or CPA licensure. Fellow member dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $270 and are prorated on a monthly basis.

Non-Resident

To qualify for Non-Resident membership, you must live outside of Utah and qualify as a regular Fellow member or Non-CPA Professional Affiliate. Non-Resident dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $150.

Retired

To qualify for Retired membership, you must be age 55 or over and gainfully employed 15 hours or less per week. Retired dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $60.

Family Leave

To qualify for Family Leave membership, you must be gainfully employed less than 15 hours per week and, for family reasons, unable to participate fully in UACPA membership. (Subject to annual Executive Board approval.) Family Leave dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $95.

Education Leave

To qualify for Education Leave membership, you must be enrolled full time in a formal education program and unable to fully participate in UACPA membership. (Subject to annual Executive Board approval.) Education Leave dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $95.


Affiliate Categories

(Affiliates may not present themselves as members of the UACPA.)

Non-CPA Professional Affiliate

To qualify for Non-CPA Professional Affiliate membership, you must have earned a Bachelors degree or above and sign a statement that you will abide by the Code of Professional Conduct and Professional Ethics as appropriate. Sponsorship by two Fellow Members is required. Affiliate dues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 are $270.

Benefits: Eligible for full membership benefits but may not hold office or be a committee or task force chair. May be listed in a special section of the membership directory.

Student Affiliate

To qualify for a FREE Student Affiliate membership, you must be enrolled in a college or university with an interest in accounting or business.

Benefits: Electronic version of The Journal Entry; networking opportunities with students and new professionals; admission to annual Student Conference; Member discounts on UACPA events and courses, excluding MBA program.  Will not be listed in the membership directory.
