Welcome – The student affiliation is a terrific opportunity for you as a student to become affiliated with the Utah Association of CPAs and its related benefits while you are still in college. The student affiliate is free of charge if you are enrolled in a college or university with an interest in accounting or business.

Here are just a few of the benefits from becoming a student affiliate:

• Access to the UACPA ProNet student affiliate section of the UACPA website. The UACPA website has extensive information to help future accountants learn critical professional competencies. This includes such items as: (a) how to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Utah, (b) what is the state board of accountancy, (c) survival skills for new professionals, (e) career planning and (f) much, much more.    

• Access to the bi-monthly online UACPA newsletter The Journal Entry, which provides such items as: (a) great articles, (b) update on the latest accounting developments, (c) upcoming meeting and seminars, and (d) local accounting news.      

• Opportunities to begin to network with professional accountants in both public and private accounting. This will allow students to experience coaching opportunities from professional accountants that are actually in the accounting field and can provide valuable mentoring.  This experience will also give you upfront ways to enhance new leadership skills.

• Participate in student affiliate discussions with your ProNet Campus Ambassador, who has been selected by the ProNet Council to serve at each of the following: (a) Brigham Young University, (b) Southern Utah University, (c) University of Utah, (d) Utah State University, (e) Utah Valley University, (f) Weber State University, and (g) Westminster College.   This process allows you as a student to come up with questions/challenges that young students/accountants are facing that members of the ProNet Council at the UACPA can address and provide helpful assistance tips. Through this process, you will be integral in forming ProNet Council Chapters at your campus. You will be able to pass along the great benefits of a UACPA student affiliate to other accounting students. 

Joining is EASY -- just click on the following link Student Affiliate and fill out the application.  Once your application has been processed you will begin to enjoy the benefits as a UACPA student affiliate. You will begin receiving additional information though your local Campus Ambassador at Beta Alpha Phi (BAP) and/or IMA meetings throughout the school year.
