Utah is fortunate to have outstanding educational opportunities for students seeking to set a solid foundation for accounting, the language of business. The following colleges and universities are accredited by the AACSB and offer degrees which may qualify candidates to sit for the CPA examination
in Utah.
In Utah, the accreditation of the college or university from which an accounting degree is obtained sets the threshold for education necessary to qualify a candidate to sit for the CPA examination. There are other colleges and universities that hold different accreditations whose accounting programs may lead to a degree that will satisfy the requirements to sit for the CPA examination. In Utah currently, the following additional educational institutions may also be able to provide education that would qualify a candidate to sit for the CPA Exam providing that the curriculum is structured to meet the statute and rule requirements.
Individuals should consult the Accountancy Statutue and Rules to determine that courses taken will meet the legal requirements to sit for the exam. The Rules of the State Board of Accountancy specify the implications of the accreditation of the educational institution from which a degree is granted.
