As a UACPA member, you can have the opportunity to give back and influence the profession through volunteer positions. Your contributions will help maximize the power and performance of CPAs in Utah. Committees typically meet three to four times per year.

Annual Conference Committee
Volunteer members plan, promote and deliver a well-balanced, two-day conference with topics that appeal to a wide variety of CPAs in the profession. This is the UACPA’s largest conference of the year.

Business & Industry Conference Committee
The B&I Conference Task Force is comprised of volunteer members from business and industry. Volunteers plan, promote and deliver an effective, top quality and well-balanced conference for CPAs in Business & Industry.

Business & Industry Council
This Council works to bring concerns of members in business and Industry to the attention of the Executive Board and to provide forums and services for members in the business and management segment of membership. Council members are appointed by the Leadership Nominating Committee and approved by the Executive Board.

DEI - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee
The UACPA strives to promote equal access and opportunity within the profession. The DEI committee advocates for policies that promote diversity in the workplace, in membership and in the accounting profession. Diversity is the presence of differences within a given setting. Equity is the process of ensuring that processes and programs are impartial, fair and provide equal possible outcomes for every individual. Inclusion is the practice of ensuring that people feel a sense of belonging in the workplace.

Emerging Professionals Council
Volunteer members work to plan and execute events for new professionals

Golf Tournament Committee
Volunteer members plan, promote and execute a golf tournament held annually. Volunteers also help secure sponsorships, prizes and teams for the event.

Leadership Council
Leadership Council brings together UACPA’s leaders for discussion on important topics facing the profession, exchanging ideas and support. This group includes board members, committee and chapter leadership, past presidents, campus ambassadors, educators and Leadership Academy alumni.

Non-Profit Committee
Examines the emerging issues of not-for-profit entities, assesses the needs of practicing and consulting members and not-for-profit entities and recommends activities appropriate to meet those needs. Plan, promote and deliver an effective, and well-balanced 4 hour Non-Profit Conference.

State and Local Government Conference Committee
Volunteer members from government and public practice Works to develop the curriculum for a one day conference held annually in May. The primary objective is to provide timely sessions that improve/update the technical skill of CPA members in auditing, accounting, and ethical standards within governmental units and to provide educational materials and technical assistance in accounting and auditing matters.

Tax Issues Committee
Represents the Association in issues related to federal taxation, the Internal Revenue Service, State Tax Commission and to keeps the membership informed of significant tax changes and their implications.
