This position is a shared services position overseeing both operating companies - Groove and EpicVue.

Overview of Position

We are seeking a Controller to join our Accounting & Finance Team. This person will be responsible for mentoring our accounting team to meet the needs of our growing business. This person will use their business and accounting skills to ensure solid financial reporting and tracking and continued profitability for Groove and EpicVue.

What you’ll own

• Manage the day to day accounting operations for both companies including monthly close, financial reporting, and A/R and A/P.
• Assist the CFO with oversight of the general accounting and finance areas of the businesses.
• Owning, designing, implementing, and maintaining an entire accounting system.
• Provide support to Accounting Manager and Accounting Clerks in regards to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Application and the General Ledger.
• Oversee daily cash position reporting, regarding cash projections and corresponding funding decisions. Also requires weekly reporting of the cash position to the CEO.
• Coordinate the efficient and timely month-end and year-end closing process for both entities. Duties to include general ledger account analysis necessary for month-end closing, both standard and non-standard journal entries as well as serving the primary role in financial statement preparation.
• Serve as a member of cross functional teams for various projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Manage commissions payables and debt service.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual expense budget and supporting schedules.
• Directly manage a team of 3 and indirectly a team of 6-10; report directly to the CFO.

Experience and skills you’ll have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Masters Degree preferred.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in the Accounting field.
• Expert in accounting processes an GAAP w/ a desire to be in a hands-on Controller role.
• Ability to multitask in order to problem solve across departments.
• Ability to see the big picture and be a partner with the business to grow.
• Experience with Financial Force or other Salesforce ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office and Google products.
